I think I made it pretty clear that I was not ready for summer to be over in last weeks post, so I won’t duplicate it (or bore you) by writing about all of the things I’m going to miss about summer on the Cape. I’m actually excited to get back to NH.   I miss my friends, I miss the structure that a new school year brings,  and most of all I miss not having to share a bathroom with my 3 kids.  Seriously.  I think I miss my own bathroom the most.  Oliver was actually eating a snack on the toilet today.  No joke.  Don’t worry, I didn’t take a picture.

Like I said last week, we have been trying to cram as much as we can into our last few weeks.  On Wednesday we realized we hadn’t eaten dinner on the beach yet.  So, we ordered a bunch of pizzas and salad, grabbed some cocktails and  off we went.  The wind was blowing so hard it was difficult to hear any part of a conversation unless you were sitting on top of someone,  and sand found its way to every piece of food, but still I was happy.  The kids ate their pizza in about 37 seconds and then off they went- scampering up the lifeguard chair (the boys), and  running towards the jetty (the girls).  We sat and watched them in the distance, their hair lit up from the setting sun, and their laughter and playful screams being carried in the breeze.  I tried to ask the “what will we be doing this time next week?” question, but nobody wanted to participate.  Stay in the moment, Danielle.  Stay in the moment.

Because this is fleeting….
