“There are no pictures of you.”

That’s what my family and friends typically say when I send a batch of family pictures out.  So, here I am.  Last night while Tock was out catering a fundraiser, I set up the self timer on my camera and cozied up on the couch with the kids.  There were multiple mishaps, 10 seconds is not a lot of time to get 4 people into position. In my head, I thought there would be one perfect picture, one where the 4 of us are smiling big, looking into the camera.  I should have known better.  But still, now I have a bunch of pictures of the kids AND ME, laughing, squirming, and just being together.

It’s true, I’m hardly ever in any pictures  so, I’m changing that.  The self timer is going to be my new best friend, and I’m working on looking beyond all the flaws I think I see in the rare amount of pictures that I am in.  I want my kids to have these memories of us together, of me being in the picture, and not just behind the camera.

Here we are.  Perfectly imperfect and loving it! (Miss Lila is just getting over the mother of all viruses so she wasn’t really in the mood for this photo shoot)

my loves....
