This is the first summer that I’ve been able to breathe a little easier when the kids are in the water because they really know how to swim now.  Well, not Lila, but I just strap a life jacket on her and she’s good to go.  It makes beach time much easier and way less stressful.   At the beginning of this summer I felt like I had forgotten how to go to the beach.  I couldn’t remember how I carried all of the toys/chairs/umbrella/towels/snacks, and the first day down, I forgot to bring myself a chair.  The second day I couldn’t remember if we went down before or after lunch, or if we should pack lunch, or if we even eat lunch at all in the summer.  We’ve got it all figured out now, and though we still have arguments every single day about who gets to be the bike leader, who has to carry the bag of toys, who gets to use the purple shovel, who gets to use the fishing net, who gets to ride on the paddle board first,(I could keep going, but I think you get the idea), the general consensus is that we’re just really lucky to be here.

Here’s a picture of Tock taking Oliver out on the first paddle board ride of the day.  That is my official P52 picture, but the second picture is Lila standing in the water, truly pissed, because Oliver got to go first.  If I didn’t think she would chuck sand at my camera I would have taken a series of pictures of the tantrum that followed.
