5 on 5 Blog Circle : July 2016 : Back to the Seacoast
We moved. Again. Right back where we started from 12 years ago– back to the beautiful NH Seacoast.
I feel like every emotion and thought I have can be summed up in this quote by Terry Prachett:
Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.
So, here we go again….
What you’re not seeing is all 3 trucks. Three trucks and seven men. It’s time to throw shit away.
The kids really tried to be helpful by labeling the boxes with whatever words and statements they wanted. Is it just my kids, or do all kids go crazy when a brand new sharpie comes into the house? The funniest part is that Oliver labeled so many boxes with his name not realizing all of those boxes would be deposited into his room by the movers. (Here’s where I need to give a special HUGE shoutout of love and gratitude to our friend Pat who came all the way from Canada to pack us up the week we were away on vacation. We would NOT have been able to move otherwise. For real. Pat- you are AMAZING! THANK YOU!).
Like I said, the kids were super helpful…..
Three trucks locked and loaded, carrying the contents of our lives packed into boxes, ready to make the journey back to the Seacoast.
I’m going to miss this house, this town, my parents, my friends, all of it…
We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there. -Pascal Mercier
I’ll be back. Of that you can be sure. (But just to visit)
And that, my friends, concludes my 12 month run with the 5 on 5 blog circle. Another personal project in the books! I’ve got another {rather huge} personal project lined up, so stay tuned, but in the meantime keep the circle going by CLICKING HERE to see what my very talented (and super sweet) friend Melissa shot this month! Sending a bittersweet farewell to my fellow 5 on 5 chicas who I’ve never met in real life and I can’t help but adore and admire.
