When you’re four and you learn to ride a ‘two bike wheeler’ on the cusp of a snow drenched winter in New England, it might feel like the cruelest form of time-out ever to not be able to ride again for months.
She learned to ride on a much smaller bike than this one, and it had been a perfect fit for her small frame. When the snow finally melted and she dusted the cobwebs off her little bike, it suddenly became clear that our littlest one is not so little anymore. So a new bike was fished out of the depths of the garage and another set of training wheels were removed. For the last time.
And just like that, another ‘last time we’ll do……’ is in the books. Sigh.
