As I’ve alluded in previous blog posts, I’m going to be changing some things up this year. I’ve been so nervous about announcing my changes and letting you all know that I’d like to slowly move away from the posed portraits and focus on the real life moments instead. I kept thinking: what if everyone hates that idea? What if nobody cares about the little moments the way that I have learned to? This picture right here is proof that I am doing the right thing. This moment right here is one that I am so happy I captured, because it is a moment that I don’t ever want to forget. And it’s a moment that could easily be forgotten as the years carried on.
Might this be the last time Abby decides to sit with her brother while he takes a bath? Might this have been the first time? Years from now I want them to remember that through all their sibling rivalry there were snippets of time where they loved to be together. I want them to have this picture and remember that not five minutes before they had been fighting, but they figured out how to get past that on their own, without my help. They won’t remember what Abby was looking at on her iPod or why it was so funny, but maybe they’ll remember the way their laughs echoed and danced around the bathtub, or how Abby had been dipping her feet into the tub just moment before.
I’m hoping you’ll all jump on board with this new adventure, as I start to unveil the reasons and moments behind my new Life, Unscripted sessions. Stick around, things are about to get interesting.

DANIELLE, YOUR PICTURES AND PLANS ARE TERRIFIC, BUT YOUR WORDS ARE EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL. YOU HAVE FOUND THE STRING THAT BINDS US ALL TOGETHER.

Childhood memories at their best. And I marvel at what a clean bathroom you have!!!
Sign me up as your first ‘new adventure’ customer— 8/11 sound good? Good. I think I know what you are up to and I love it. Clearly I’m a risk taker given the unscripted nature of our last photo shoot 🙂 xo

What I love about this picture and find most reassuring is that kids- all of us for that matter- can use technology to bring them together rather than isolate themselves.

I think you are on the right track with Life Unscripted. We follow you anywhere.
