Tonight, we boo’d for real.
All day the kids plotted, schemed and giggled about how they were going to be so super quick and so sneaky! When darkness enveloped our neighborhood, they put their plan into action.
Our most fearless became suddenly afraid of the dark and stuck by my side on the front step while we listened to the shrieks and not so quiet footsteps of the other two racing across the street.
She clasped her hand around mine and I felt sort of guilty for liking the fact that she was too afraid to go.
Because really, it just means she won’t be sneaking out anytime soon.
