Nearly 12 years ago we brought our first baby home. She was a tiny little thing who sat on my lap during the long ride home from Georgia, Vermont. She weathered the storms of life with us, both good and bad. She welcomed each of our three babies, first by giving her signature ‘nibbins’ to the baby blankets Tock would bring home hours after each of them were born, and then by cautiously standing guard by their sleeping bodies. She taught us about loyatly, unconditional love, and the joys that a full body wiggle can bring.
This photo marks our last day with her.
I’m not ready for a full Teago post. As much as I tried to distract myself throughout today by catching up with blog posts, I kept stopping at day 118—this photo. Because it is just THAT hard. If you’ve known and loved and lost a dog then you know what I’m talking about. If not, well, I’m truly sorry.

Godspeed my girl, and thank you.

Mostly I love and comment on the pictures of my grandchildren but this is worth noting. Teago was a protector and a best friend. There is a dog heaven and Teago is there. Beautiful life.
