Father-Son backgammon game. Tock’s mom needlepointed the board and had it finished into a beautiful table for us years ago. For a long time the table moved from room to room, always stuck in a corner with various things piled on top of it. The game pieces were hidden in one of Abby’s many purses, used in pretend play as who knows what. And then a few months ago the kids asked how to play and Tock patiently taught them. This game went to Oliver, and Tock swears he didn’t let him win on purpose. We’re good like that…mostly.

This is a great shot. Mom and Dad taught us when we were young and we had rousing games, especially when we played for money. Oliver, I want to take you on too.
