Christmas morning 2013, Stratham, NH.
When we bought this house, the staircase was one of my favorite features. It still is, actually. This staircase has welcomed many a tiny MacInnes hiney for a time out, it’s been stomped up and tumbled down. We know which spindles on the banister are loose, and that the second and third step will always have items on it that are meant to be carried upstairs but never actually move.
So on this Christmas, the last one in this home that holds so many of our memories, it was beautiful to see our three children sitting as still as they could in nervous anticipation while we checked to see if Santa had stopped at our house. It was exactly as I had pictured it.
We had a great Christmas- electronics were the big winner and while I felt like the picture above needed to be the official photo of day 359, I have to post this one as well.
