I don’t really know how this happened.
We were all so excited to decorate the tree/house tonight. When I told one of my friend’s about our Friday evening plans to deck the halls she said “Oh, good luck. Everyone always ends up crying at my house when we decorate.” I have to admit, I actually thought that was kind of strange because what is there to cry about when you’re decorating? Um, apparently everything. The question should be- why don’t your kids cry when you decorate your tree? I’m being serious. If your kids don’t cry, can you please explain why. Thank you.
At one point Tock and I shut the whole operation down and sent the kids up to their rooms. Then we decided to go ahead and decorate the tree alone and made the kids come down and look at our beautiful work, and declared Christmas canceled. The end.
Just kidding. We could never decorate without them!! We just made them sit in their rooms for 10 minutes and think about how stupid their fights were and that it didn’t matter who picked the next Christmas song, or whose preschool ornament sucked more, or who farted. What mattered was that we were decorating our family Christmas tree and we were going to be happy and cheerful and enjoy each other. After that, we really did have so much fun. This also happened….
Happy Holidays!!!
