Tock’s mom started Abby a paperweight collection when she was born. Each year she adds to it and, unlike most other things in Abby’s room, she really takes great care of these.
Tonight we dusted them off and arranged them neatly in a row across her shelf. Organizing one shelf made me want to tackle other things in her room, but Abby wanted no part of it. She claims that everything is exactly where it should be, including the tissues on the floor and candy wrappers from Halloween left on her desk. “I like things the way they are. It’s just how I am.”
True that, my girl.
Needless to say, I love this. More importantly I am so happy that Abby has a sense that she collects something as special as she is.
