Strangely our town mandates that Trick or Treating be done the night BEFORE Halloween, between the hours of 5-7 pm. Why? I honestly don’t know. We all just follow along.
It was a crazy night! Abby flew out the front door dressed as the cutest devil ever and met up with some friends to trick or treat in the neighborhood alone– without parental supervision. Lila’s vampire make up took longer than I expected, mostly because she wouldn’t stop moving and kept wiping it off, but also because I couldn’t understand what she really wanted me to paint on her face. Oliver had a hard time seeing out of his scary pumpkin murderer mask, so I had to rip some mesh out of it and just hope he could breathe. This all happened while Tock was upstairs working and friends walked in to chug a quick glass of wine before hitting the streets. It was chaos– and I was mostly pissed that I didn’t get a picture of the three kids together on the front steps. Of course I blamed that on the fact that trick or treating should actually be done on Halloween. I would have been more prepared.
Probably.
