I have followed (er, maybe stalked?) Meredith Novario’s P365’s for awhile now. I finally decided to send her an email in January after I began my own P365 just to let her know how very much I admired her work and how I was venturing on my own 365 project. She so kindly and quickly replied to my email and we found ourselves with a nifty little online friendship (she lived in NC at the time). I would email her when I was in a rut, and she would make me laugh and feel okay about this journey of mine. She’s cool as hell. And… she’s an incredibly gifted photographer AND writer (if you visit her blog you will find yourself lost in the Novario family days and the most beautiful imagery that accompanies her intoxicating prose). Yeah, I’m a pretty huge fan.
Our worlds collided on Sunday when her cute little family made time for my cute little family on their NE travels before they head off to Japan for 2 years. We met at a playground in Exeter and let the kids play (or ignore each other) while we chatted. It was seriously cool to meet in real life, and though I made countless inappropriate jokes to friends and family about meeting up with my ‘internet friend’ at a park, it really was so awesome.
I had visions in my head of our kids all huddled together for a photo with natural smiles and their arms around each other. Nope. Meredith’s handsome husband Joe lined them up by age and we started snapping away. Only Lila remained the same in the fantasy and reality versions that danced in my head.
Safe travels Novario clan. Until we meet again……
